Chapter 177: Approaching the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth

For the last three months, the entire Desolate Celestial Fraternity was completely at peace. It was because of an unspoken sacred armistice that automatically happened when the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth had suddenly descended upon from the Immortal Realm.

Now the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth is bigger than entire mountain ranges. It will take several months for it to fully descend but it will not crash upon the mountain peaks but will hover just above it.

The Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth is always an imposing sight; the meditating pose of the Great God Pangu sitting on a gigantic mythical Xuanwu Tortoise.

When it has fully descended, the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth will elude a golden profound aura that can lift the golden celestials to the base of the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth. From there, the cultivators can enter the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth through the many passages that are below the tortoise base.

Already dozens of temporary settlements had already been formed at where the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth will be anticipated to descend; it lies somewhat between three mountain ranges in the territories of the orthodox fraternity.

Although the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth will be descending into the territories of the orthodox fraternity but the unorthodox cultivators will have the right of passage to visit the site and even build a temporary camp in the vicinity.

Ji Yuan had taken the profound ship of the Spirit Blue Moon Sect to visit the landing site of the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth.

When he saw the floating mountain of the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth, he was stunned. “Holy crap, this is monstrous!”

Almost half the sky was covered by the sight of the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth!

Chen Yi laughed, “It is actually even bigger inside. It is a world within a world in there. I tell you more on the special laws that are inside later.”

On the deck that Ji Yuan was at, he accompanied by Chen Yi, Ling Tianshui and his three future consorts (Little Princess, Ling Feiyue and Xue Qianxue).

Although Ling Feiyue was forbidden to enter the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth, she could still accompany him to the site.

Ji Yuan inhaled deeply as he gasped again at the dozens of profound ships and hundreds of flying mounts in the vicinity. Thousands of banners of the hundreds of celestial clans were flashing below him.

Ling Tianshui said as she inspected her map, “There are several settlements in this vicinity. However, the biggest settlement is the one that are a few miles away from here. We should go there because most of our allies are probably there as well.”

Then she grinned. “Our enemies, including.”

Ling Feiyue nodded, “We have nothing to fear from the major orthodox clans since there is a sacred armistice in place. If we don’t show up then they may think that we fear them.”

Chen Yi agreed. “Then we shall go there immediately.”

All of a sudden Ji Yuan had noticed that Bai Qianfeng was staring at the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth intently. Although she was in her nine-tail spirit fox form but Ji Yuan was still able to tell that she had a troubled look.

He whispered to her, “Qianfeng, what is wrong.”

Bai Qianfeng cuddled in his arms before she divine whispered to him. “The Great God Pangu is my most hated enemy.”

Ji Yuan smiled awkwardly before he whispered. “However the Great God Pangu is our greatest savior.”

He was interrupted by Xue Qianxue who was suddenly pointing to a fast approaching profound ship. “This is the profound ship of the Celestial Orthodox Sect!”

“They are going to attack us?” Chen Yi was alarmed as he shouted. “Tell our protégés to be on high alert!”

In  a short time, numerous cultivators from the Spirit Blue Moon Sect were called to the deck to prepare for battle.

The profound ship of the Celestial Orthodox Sect quickly came into view and they could see Matriarch Sacred Maiden Han Yuchi, Sacred Maiden Zhao Songjin and several saintesses on the deck.

It did seem to Ji Yuan that the Celestial Orthodox Sect was planning an attack as their profound ship approached too rapidly.

However the Spirit Blue Moon Sect was fully prepared; there were hundreds of cultivators on the deck of the profound ship of the Spirit Blue Moon Sect who were poised to counter attack instead.

When Little Princess saw that Zhao Songjin was on the deck, she began to hum coldly.

Zhao Songjin was the first to greet them. “Dark Mistress Ling Feiyue, former Sacred Maiden Xue Qianxue, Little Princess…you’re all here.”

Then she turned to smile at Ji Yuan, “I have never expected that the Dark Lord of the Spirit Blue Moon Sect will actually be the Sword Saint Ji Yuan…”

Ji Yuan interrupted with a nonchalant grin. “Sword Demon Ji Yuan. Isn’t this what the major orthodox clans have been calling me? Are you disappointed that you didn’t manage to kill me that time?” He was referring to the time when he was captured by the Celestial Orthodox Sect.

Zhao Songjin slowly said as she gently raised her hands together in a polite gesture, which startled Ji Yuan. “The Celestial Orthodox Sect has no wish to pursue Sword Saint Ji Yuan, Ling Feiyue or Xue Qianxue anymore.”

Xue Qianxue was startled. “Is this from you or from the Matriarch Sacred Maiden?”

Han Yuchi replied coolly, “What Songjin says is also mine as well. Qianxue, please take care.”

“You won’t be coming after us? Then why lead the major orthodox clans against the Spirit Blue Moon Sect?” Xue Qianxue was astonished.

She had actually regarded Han Yuchi highly in the past. But after she had learnt that Han Yuchi had spared Zhao Songjin, she was in disbelief.

Zhao Songjin said. “It is all a misunderstanding.”

“Hmph! This is but a trick! I have fallen into her evil ruse in the past.” Little Princess interrupted coldly.

Zhao Songjin turned to Little Princess and said, “I hope that I can still be your good sister…”

“Hmph! I don’t have such a good sister that can betray me. The deaths of my numerous protégés are all due to your ruse.” Little Princess interrupted coldly. “I have heard that you have betrayed Yin Wei after betraying me. Do you have any shame at all?”

Zhao Songjin raised her fingers in a polite gesture as she bowed with her hands. “I know that what I did is wrong and can’t be forgiven. After I have killed Yin Wei, you may come and take my life.”

Little Princess was startled by what she had said and she had suddenly noticed that Han Yuchi and the elders behind Zhao Songjin seemed to be supporting her wholeheartedly.

She thought, “They already know that she is from the Evil Cultivation Palace?”

This did not go unnoticed by Xue Qianxue too.

Little Princess looked at Zhao Songjin’s dull eyes and was startled to see that she seemed to have a lifeless aura around her; it was as though she did not care about her life anymore.

She seems so different now from when they had last met…

There was a softening in her eyes as she said. “Whether I want to take your life is up to me and not for you to decide. Go!”

Zhao Songjin bowed respectfully again as the profound ship of the Celestial Orthodox Sect departed.

Ji Yuan returned a polite hand bow at the same time.

“Ji Yuan, why are you so polite to her? Don’t tell me that you are interested in her?” Little Princess asked him with a slight annoyance.

Ji Yuan laughed, “Oh no, I am not. She is so polite and respectful to us. Why shouldn’t we accord her the same politeness and respect?”

Xue Qianxue and Little Princess took a look at him and saw that he was serious.

Ji Yuan explained quietly. “She has the eyes of the dead. Even though I have not seen her for some time but I can still remember her haughty vibes. She used to have plenty of fighting spirit.”

Little Princess slowly said, “If she is really sincere in repenting then I won’t make things hard for her. After all, she is just following Yin Wei’s orders. But Yin Wei must die by my hands.”

Ji Yuan was rubbing his chin as he pondered silently. “Hmm, this Zhao Songjin really looks like Shui Qingqing. I wonder if they may be related?”

After the profound ship of the Celestial Orthodox Sect had departed from the profound ship of the Spirit Blue Moon Sect, Han Yuchi gently caught hold of Zhao Songjin’s arm with her trembling fingers. “Songjin, I have already lost your twin sister. I cannot afford to lose you anymore.”

Zhao Songjin forced herself to smile and she was trembling, “My life has no meaning at all. I will avenge your honor and mine as well. Yin Wei has to die by my hands.”

Han Yuchi shook her head, “You’re not his match while you are inside the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth. His cultivation realm level is higher than you.”

Zhao Songjin shook her head, “But he doesn’t know that I have the Sacred Maiden Profound Art. I can still surprise him.”

“Will he enter the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth?” Han Yuchi asked.

“He definitely will. I know him well. He is ambitious and he is always looking for a way to become the Evil Cultivation Master.” Zhao Songjin said coldly. “Therefore this is only chance that I have in nailing him down.”

Han Yuchi muttered, “This Evil Cultivation Master is too mysterious. You ought to be careful. No one has ever seen his true appearance and he has been living since my grand matriarch times. He is a monstrous existence. I am a little afraid now. You also saw how he can turn the three saint cultivators into three epic desolate monsters. We had lost quite a number of protégés in that battle.”

Zhao Songjin nodded. “I have never known that the Evil Cultivation Palace will have such secret weapon. Moreover I have never met that Sagess Mei before. Mother consort, please do not worry for me. I will be careful.”

Then she was sighing. “My greatest mistake is that when it is time for me to use my emotions, I have used ruse instead. I have let down everyone. Although I love Jin Yilong but I am just too wanton and I am unable to face him anymore.”

Han Yuchi said quietly. “Child, don’t say that. If he truly loves you, he won’t mind your past.”

“It is already too late for me.” Zhao Songjin sadly shook her head.
